In math we are continuing a unit on Subtracting with Tens.  This is very difficult for first graders.  Continue to work on basic facts (both addition and subtraction) and adding and subtracting 10’s from 2 digit numbers at home. We should complete this unit next week.

In science we began learning about Trees and our Amazing Earth as Earth Day is this month.  We are focusing on how to take care of the Earth and the importance of our protecting this planet.

The fourth and fifth grades are sponsoring a Penny Drive for their trip in June. Send any loose change to our class.  The class with the most change collected wins a prize!

Report cards will be sent in your child’s folder next Thursday.  Please keep the report card and return the envelope when your child returns to school after break.

Please continue to send rubber boots for recess. Even though it is supposed to get warm, the playground is very muddy.

Remember that my classroom webpage includes all the information I send home, including our spelling words and weekly high frequency words. If you are in need of any information you can access it through the www.jeffersoncs.org webpage.

Have a great weekend,

Andi Cammer
