Dear Parents,

We have been learning about our world and how we need to take care of it for future generations in celebration of Earth Day .  We have learned about Reusing and Recycling to cut down on garbage.  The children have been talking about all the things they can do to help preserve our Earth.  We have really been focusing on the importance of trees, also.  Please ask your child what s/he learned this week and last.  We will continue the study on the importance of trees as Arbor Day falls next Friday.

In math we finished up our unit on adding groups of tens. Continue to work with your child on those concepts. Coming up, we will be learning about subtracting groups of tens.  Ahhhhh!!

Spring seems to be officially here, but the temperatures are still quite low when the kids go out for recess.  Please make sure your child has a jacket.  Please send rubber boots or snow boots as it is still very muddy and wet out there.

The fourth and fifth grades are sponsoring a Penny Drive for their trip in June. Send any loose change to our class.  The class with the most change collected wins a prize!

Remember that my classroom webpage includes all the information I send home, including our spelling words and weekly high frequency words. If you are in need of any information you can access it through the www.jeffersoncs.org webpage.

Have a great weekend,

Andi Cammer
