May 25, 2018

Dear Parents,

This week was VERY busy!  Our Science fair was a HUGE success on Wednesday!  Thank you to all who came out to see your child’s project. The children shared their Oviparous Animal slide presentations.  We had some “previously live” J specimens out for others to view.  The children were FABULOUS…they were well prepared and well behaved during such an exciting and somewhat overwhelming event.  I was very proud of them.

In math we completed our Telling Time Unit and began a unit on Geometry.  We are learning about 2-dimensional and 3-dimensioal figures and their attributes. For science, we will have a Bird Watching Station open next for the students to observe the birds that come right to our window to eat from the feeders.

There is no school on Monday and Tuesday of next week in honor of the Memorial Day Holiday. Our last spelling list will be given next week but we will not test until Tuesday, June 5, 2018.

We will be administering a number of end-of-the-year assessments in both ELA and math beginning next week.  For this reason many of the students will not be bringing their reading baggies in the evenings.

Moving-Up is Monday, June 11th at 7pm.  School is dismissed at 12:50pm that day. There will be more information forthcoming.

On Friday, June 4th we will be going on a picnic up to the town green with our PBIS group IF EACH CHILD EARNS IT. If your child does not earn his/her J-Hawks s/he will stay back at school and work on behavior activities with a member of the PBIS team.  There is an additional paper in your child’s folder with lunch information.

Have a great weekend,
