School Counseling Office News

Welcome to the 2017-2018 year! This year, we will continue to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and school staff to identify areas of need for our students K-12. We are all working diligently to address the academic, personal/social and career need for our students. Schedules will be mailed out in the last week of August. New additions that may be reflected on schedules this year include AIS and Learning Center. Students who need to make up course credit for previously failed courses, prepare for Regents Exams for a course in which they are not enrolled, or who have been identified by their prior year teachers as a student who may benefit from additional academic support have been scheduled for AIS for that specific subject area. If a section of AIS did not fit in the student's schedule, Learning Center was then added. Students will have the first two weeks of school to make adjustments to their schedules. For students to make changes to their schedules, students must complete the Course Drop & Add Form. This form is available on the School Counseling Webpage, under Counseling Office Publications. Copies of the form will also be available for students in the main office. In order for students to drop a course, students must obtain a parent signature on this form. The last day to make schedule changes is September 19, 2017. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or any other feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me!
