Justina Daempfle, daughter of Amy and Peter Daempfle of Jefferson, is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2023.
Throughout her high school career at Jefferson, she has participated in a variety of activities while earning an Advanced Regents diploma with Mastery in Science. Some of these activities include, National Honor Society, Student Senate, Varsity Club, Art Club, Yearbook, Soccer, and Basketball.
As a student and community member, Justina has earned many awards and recognitions, including the College Board National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program, her artwork placed 2nd in the Fenimore Youth Art Contest, the University of Rochester George Eastman Young Leaders Award, the Clarkson University Leadership Award, the Girl Scout Troop 2384 Award, and the Delaware League Fall Academic All Stars Girls Soccer Award among others.
In addition to her outstanding achievements in school, she has worked as a CROP Peer Leader during her Junior and Senior year as well as working at Minekill State Park assisting with swim lessons and as a lifeguard. Justina has been a role model in both the school and community. Volunteering at many events, like the Haunted Hayride at Minekill State Park, the Veterans Day Dinner , and Project Perfect at the school as well as the Christmas Feeling Fund.
Ms. Daempfle has enjoyed her years as a student at Jefferson and is looking forward to attending SUNY Oneonta next fall, majoring in English Secondary Education.
